TPS Holders Leave ‘Eviction’ Notice at Rubio’s Office: “This Must be a Hate Free Area”

PHOTOS OF ACTION

Miami, FL-  On September 25, a day after ‘Road to Justice’ riders hosted a press conference in support of the Florida Action Network Movement’s ‘Party at the Polls’ (‘Get Out The Vote’ effort) event, a group of riders made a stop at Marco Rubio’s office in Miami to leave a ‘Notice of Eviction’ at the entrance of the US Senator’s office building.

Riders left notices at several entrances of Rubio’s office to leave a message that if the Senator “Fails to meet demands of the immigrant community, US Senator Marco Rubio will be forced to vacate this premises after November 8, 2022 (Next date for re-election)”.

Participants of this action made the following statements:

“Senator Marco Rubio has supported legislation to provide TPS for Venezuelans, but still has done little to protect 45,000 of Florida’s Haitian, Honduran and Salvadoran TPS Holders who have been threatened by the current administration’s efforts to de-document them”Stephanie Zecatares, Daughter of TPS Holder and ‘Road to Justice’ Rider

We are here to make the Senator aware that we are watching him. He may not be up for re-election this year but we know that two years from now, he will be and our community will not forget about his complicity with the current administration’s efforts to separate our families.”Lorena Zepeda, Salvadoran TPS Holder and ‘Road to Justice’ Riders
