National TPS Alliance Statement on 5th Circuit DACA Ruling

Massachusetts- Today, the US 5th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) as unlawful but will continue to allow the program to remain in place for existing recipients as the case will now be back for review in the lower courts.

In response to the latest news, Doris Landaverde made the following remarks on behalf of the National TPS Alliance:

“Our struggle to get equal rights for TPS holders was inspired by the fearless young immigrant civil rights leaders who fought for and won DACA in 2012. Today, we stand in full solidarity with our DACAmented brothers and sisters, who are our loved ones, our community members, and our inspiration. We are sick and tired of our livelihoods being used as part of political games. We know that in the end, the DACA fight will be won by Dreamers- not by lawyers, and not by any politicians, and we remain confident that justice will prevail in the end. Migrants deserve full equality, nothing more and nothing less!”
